Imagine, you move to a new city, you know nobody. You are unhappy. You feel like all your happiness has been dragged out of you. Well, in the movie Inside Out, it literally has! Last Friday, our class watched Inside Out as part of our HACE unit on the brain. In the movie, there is six main characters, Riley, Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust. Riley is the main character and all the emotions are "inside her brain" making her decisions. Joy is the happy emotion and all the emotions usually rely on Joy to make decisions. Sadness, on the other hand, is pretty much the exact opposite of Joy. She is always moping or complaining. Then there is Anger. Anger is ALWAYS angry. He is always ready to yell or curse. Fear, well, he is always making sure Riley is safe and that they stay clear of anything dangerous or risky, and if there is danger, he FREAKS out. And last, but not least, Disgust. Disgust is always making sure Riley is looking good and does go near anything gross. There is also less important characters like Rileys old imaginary friend, Bing Bong, a dolphin cotton candy mixture. As well as Bing Bong, there is also Rileys parents and I dont think they need to much explaining. Now, on to the movie. In the movie, Sadness accidently lets Rileys "core" memories get sucked up a tube and when Joy tries to catch them, she gets sucked up the tube as well. Unfortunately, Sadness tries to save Joy but fails. Joy and Sadness wind up in "long term memory" and have to go on a big mission to get back to "headquarters" where all the other emotions are. Mean while, since Joy is not there to make Riley happy, Riley is miserable and tries running away, but fortunately, Joy and Sadness get back in time to get Riley back home. I was thinking about it and, this movie made me remember when I was little and would act like Riley would when she was younger at the beginning of the movie. While I was thinking of that, I also thought that Riley is eleven and that is the same age as me. So it sort of relates to me that way. Thats my summary and reflection of the movie so if you like fun and goofy movies, then you should DEFINETLY watch this movie.
